What To Expect

IMG_1136.jpeg

You don’t need to fix anything. You are here to remember who you are, body, and spirit.

I will meet you with presence and without judgment. While I think in terms of soul, shamanism, and Chinese Medicine, I relate these concepts in a down-to-earth, non-jargony way. My style is informal yet purposeful - my clients consistently report feeling seen and met fully, safe to be themselves and explore the edges of how they think.

I will offer my personal angle towards Truth. This will include validating your experiences with the grounding of Chinese medicine and shamanism, as well as challenging places where you may be operating from assumptions, fear, or faulty / limiting beliefs.

My approach is not to work simply to alleviate your immediate discomfort; I am thinking about how we can help you set your life up for years after you have left my office for the final time.

The First Session

In our first session (which is 90 minutes), I will get to up to speed on who you are and what has brought you in. Because I see you as a full person, not a collection of symptoms, our conversation will span the gamut of your life - covering your mind, body, heart, and spiritual side.

Follow-up Sessions

Hour-long follow-up sessions will be guided more by you than by me. Each time you come in, we will cover how things have been for you since our last session. We will address what is present for you, knowing that the immediate goings-on in your world offer windows into the deeper themes you have an opportunity to adjust.

Between Sessions

I will often given you homework after our sessions. Sometimes these are specific actions for you to take, or new mindsets to explore, or sometimes it's just as simple as deepening your own awareness of what is going on within. As I am not a "fixer" of your problems, the ideas / tasks I suggest are there to help you establish a new relationship with yourself and the world. Examples of homework include being aware of when you are in an old loop of thinking or behaving, taking time to enjoy a long, slow cup of tea, taking a tech-free walk in nature, connecting with and sitting by a tree, or even a (with instruction) shamanic fire ceremony for release.
